Ontario Dance Champion Becomes NAO Top Student

NAO Top Student (Class of Sept 2015)

You do NOT need to have prior health education to become a great manual osteopath. Dasha Veprjitska is an example. She is an Ontario (Canada) dance champion (she is a Ballerina) who enrolled at the on-campus Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice program of National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto, right after graduating from high school. She is in the 4th month of the 12 months DOMP program.

Today she had her practical exam done (which included taking history, informed consent, palpation, static joint play, range of motion, and osteopathic examination and treatments) and she was perfect! No mistake at all! Perfect execution of treatments and examinations. She achieved the top mark in the practical exam.

Her osteopathy practical exam was videotaped and is available to be watched by our registered online students.

It is a myth that you need to have prior health education to become a great manual osteopath. Anyone who is dedicated and spends enough time practicing the techniques can become a great manual osteopath.

Great job Dasha! We are so proud of you.

I Love National Academy of Osteopathy!

Here is a "I love NAO" photo taken by Dr Shahin Pourgol, MBA< DC, DO, PhD (Jamaica, December 2015).

Thanks to National Academy of Osteopathy (NAO) student, Dasha Veprjitska from Vaughan (Ontario, Canada) for these photos taken during her vacation last week.

Dasha is the top NAO student of the class of September 2015 (she completed the exams without any mistake). She is an 18 years old Ontario dance champion who enrolled at NAO right after high school graduation.

Her osteopathy techniques are amazing. This shows that students do not need prior health education to become a great manual osteopath.

NAO Graduates Invited to Singapore Event

NAO Graduates are Invited to Submit Papers for 9th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back & Pelvic Girdle Pain

National Academy of Osteopathy has been asked by the organizers of this event in Singapore to ask manual osteopaths to submit papers which could be in the form of research or clinical cases.

Physiotherapists, physicians and chiropractors regularly submit papers to this event but not so many manual osteopaths. It would be great if our graduates submit papers.

This is a major event attended by many health professionals. NAO graduates and students are invited to attend the event which contains many seminars. It is worth a trip to Singapore.

Cranial Osteopathy Poem by NAO Student

Here is a poem written by National Academy of Osteopathy student, Dr Chris Vincent. “Prof Pam” mentioned in this poem is Professor Pamela Crosson – Fournier, one of the three professors who teach cranial osteopathy at NAO.

CranioSacral Therapy

A Poem

Small sparks create
thick clouds of smoke.
Tiny stone: big ripples.
Soft gentle touch
raising tsunami waves
of  epic emotions.
A single step off the cliff
and a deep fall downwards.
Ants balancing big loads
on their little backs.
Old damaged photographs
evoking complicated knots
of interwoven memories.
Invisible electric current
giving quick birth
to blinding bright light.
Slight smiles and big joy.
Sound of jingles leading
to waves of nostalgia.
A drop of perfume
taking over the atmosphere
rolling and colliding
with air molecules.
Big oak trees created
out of the potential stored
at the heart of little seeds.
Minute movements
leading to massive reactions.
Like few words put together,
that have the power
to build and also destroy
in a heartbeat.
Manual osteopath Prof. Pam
placed her able hands
on my parietal bones.
I closed my eyes
and soared into a dimension
where emotion and reason
became a single entity,
propelled by the coiling
turbo engines of Science.
